Seijinshiki

Nezu Shrine has always held a special place in my heart. As a kid growing up in Tokyo, I spent many afternoons playing in the shrine's sprawling gardens and admiring the beautiful torii gates. When my friends approached me to photograph their Seijinshiki celebration at Nezu Shrine, I was honored and excited to be a part of this important cultural event.

Seijinshiki is a celebration of coming of age, a milestone that is celebrated in different ways across cultures. For my friends, this meant donning traditional outfits representing their respective cultures - from Kimono to Hanfu to Salwar kameez.

This photoshoot was a special opportunity for me to capture the beauty and significance of cultural diversity. My friends donned traditional outfits that represented their respective cultures, and I aimed to showcase the importance of cultural exchange and understanding through my photos. For me, it was a privilege to combine my love for photography with my fondness for Nezu Shrine, and I hope that these photos serve as a reminder of the power of cultural celebration and inclusion
